GigsEscrow Usecases
For Collector / Investor
Collectors buy finished work. Allocators buy a bag. On GigsEscrow both checkouts are USDC, both are wallet-signed, and neither requires trusting an admin to “release the goods” from a spreadsheet.
What you can actually buy
Digital files: pay, download. Token lots: pay USDC, receive the locked ERC-20 in one AssetEscrow swap. Services and jobs are for work-in-progress; use those when you are commissioning, not when you want a finished object in the wallet or the downloads folder.
Every live token lot has a contract address on the listing. Open ArcScan. Check the token, the amount, the USDC price. If you cannot explain the lot to yourself, do not buy it.
Atomic beats “trust me bro”
OTC in a group chat is two transactions and a prayer. A GigsEscrow lot is one swap: your USDC, their tokens, protocol fee 0% on testnet. If the transaction fails, you still have your USDC. If it confirms, the tokens are in your wallet — not in a site balance you must withdraw.
That is the investor-grade property, even at testnet size: settlement is the chain’s problem, not a support queue.
Collecting files without a leaky drive
Paid files use a signed URL that expires. You are not hunting a Google Drive that got unset. If the listing was false, the 48-hour “not as described” window is the recourse — refund is USDC back, then the file is closed.
Treat test USDC as play money. The habit you want is: read the listing, check the seller profile and ratings, pay from a wallet you control, keep the ArcScan receipt.
Fairness when you are the buyer
You cannot be quietly delisted from your own download because a seller had a bad day — access follows payment and the dispute window. You cannot be filled at a different token than the one on the lot — the lock is specific. You cannot pay a person who is also the payout address on a self-escrow cheat; the app blocks that class of mistake.
What GigsEscrow will not do: pick winners, guarantee a token’s future, or unwind a confirmed swap because the price moved. Collectors and investors using a non-custodial market accept that.
How to start
Connect on Arc Testnet, hold ERC-20 USDC for prices and native USDC for gas (they are different decimals on Arc — the listing page says so). Browse Products or Tokens. Pay. Verify the file download or the token balance.
Nothing here is investment advice. Size as if the whole testnet can reset. Use the rails so that when the work is real, you already know the buttons.
